Go and make disciples

And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable men who will also be qualified to teach others.  (2 Timothy 2:2)

Theology of Work

Our VISION is to train and equip the body of Christ in Congo to build their lives on Biblical principles and not the traditions of men, training them to lead by example, so that their lives as believers will reflect the nature and culture of the Kingdom of God in their families, in their church life, and in their communities.

To accomplish this vision, CFBC, the “Centre de Formation Biblique du Congo” (Center for Biblical Training in Congo) was officially established in 2009, when the first class of seven student families moved to our jungle site located 15 miles outside of Lodja, where they lived, worked, and studied together. The GOAL of this Training Center is to equip Christian families through:
  • Biblical instruction, using a simple curriculum adapted from our sister IOM pastors’ school in Kenya.
  • In addition, Pierre Ngueliele has introduced “The Theology of Work”, which he has used for years in his personal life to re-introduce to the Congolese people to the Biblical principles of individual responsibility and personal productivity.  This involves instruction in advanced agricultural, animal husbandry, and fish-pond techniques, which are applied as a part of the daily life of the student families at the school site.  The crops that they grow and the animals they raise provide their food, as well as a supply to share with the neighboring villagers.
  • The Application of the Biblical principles that they learn is a major component of the instruction, which involves not only sharing with others, but ministering to the widows and orphans in the surrounding villages, visiting the prisoners at the Lodja prison, and visiting the sick.  In addition, the students and instructors work with the surrounding villages on projects to aid the community, such as small bridge repair and introducing fish ponds stocked from the ponds at our school.
Our STRATEGY is to train and equip families who will return to their villages and establish their own training centers, teaching others and making disciples; demonstrating in their own lives the Biblical principles that they have learned, the application of these principles as they reach out to those in need in their villages, and demonstrating the principles of personal productivity in their own fields and with their own animals.
